The Book of Great Speeches

The Book of Great Speeches
By Michael Oduah

At first, I was a bit puzzled by the fact that there is no table of contents or index to this book. Now that I have read it, I understand why it was intentionally omitted.

It is rather interesting that so much of the "book" is occupied by the likes of Adolf Hitler, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara's speeches whereas so little space is devoted to the likes of Gandhi, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and admirable men/women. There are so many amazing figures who truly helped inspire nations and shape generations- why spend so much page space on such insignificant figures/speeches (historically speaking they TRULY are) as Bill Clinton's "I have sinned", Hillary Clinton, LBJ, Woodrow Wilson, Dick Gephardt, Teddy Kennedy their associates.

Frankly, I would NEVER really consider any of the George W. or Barak H. speeches to be among the world's "great speeches". Honestly Mr. Oduah- what were you thinking that caused you to devote SO much page space to them? This book did contain a significant amount of speeches by recent political figures which may be fine depending on your tastes but it does so at the exclusion of hundreds/thousands of truly monumental orations.

If you don't mind slogging through 100 pages of "meh" to find a speech of George Washington's or of Martin Luther King's AND you don't have access to Google (where you can find all of the (in my opinion) worthwhile material for free anyway) then go ahead and download this book for free. Personally, I don't think I'll ever open this ebook again.
